About Vera Viglina

Vera Viglina lives and works in St.Petersburg, Russia. She started making large sculptures for open year in 2005. Before that she used to work with small forms, even miniatures. All her sculptures seem to have an underlying element of happiness and joy. She makes her sculptures of grogged clay and uses the method that was used by ancient potters before the potter`s wheel was invented.
She is pretty obviously influenced by such greats as Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Eric Stamford others of that calibre. She is undoubtedly an artist to collect now, before the serious buyers find her.

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."
Customer comment on 'Girl with Goose (Child herding Goose sculptures statue)' by Lucy Poett
I must say I am thrilled with my `Goose Girl` by Lucy Poett. It looks charming in my garden and is greatly admired.

I will indeed have a look on your web page and see if I can be tempted again ! !

Kind Regards

Joan Gilbert, Fyfe, Scotland.
